The closest planetary nebula to earth and the largest in apparent size makes this nebula a favorite. Unfortunately it is not so easy to see from our latitude. I captured this image as it skirted the trees on the south side of my backyard last night.

2012-09-13 in my backyard, Victoria BC.
Conditions - clear, calm, 15 deg C and slightly overcast with no wind.
Equipment - Modified Canon T3i on 105mm F/7 WO refractor. HEQ5 mount was guided with PhD.
Exposure -22 4 min exposures at ISO 800
