The Orion Nebula is a lovely sight visually and is strikingly beautiful when imaged in the light from the rich field of excited hydrogen gas that is feeding star formation in its core. This image is a combination of two color images and an H-alpha filtered one.

Color 1 - 2006-12-27 with Pentax ist-DS camera on 105mm refractor with 0.8x focal reducer.
Color 2 - 2010-02-14 with Canon T1i (unmodified).Total exposure of 69 min
H-alpha - 2010-01-06 with modified Canon T1i camera and 12nm H-alpha filter on 105mm .
Exposure - 126 - 30s frames at ISO 3200 with 8 flat frames for calibration.
