This is a color image of the Horsehead and flame nebulae that is enhanced using a monochrome H-alpha image.

Color image -
Dates and location - 2009-01-17, Backyard in Victoria.
Equipment - 105mm f7 refractor, modified Canon 350D camera and HEQ5 mount.
Exposure 96 light and 32 dark frames, 1 min each at ISO 1600 with 40 flat frames for calibration.
H-Alpha image -
Date and location - 2009-12-07 in backyard, Fairfield Victoria.
Conditions - bright moon, 0 deg C, clear with light breeze.
Equipment - Modified Canon T1i with Astronomik 12 nm H-alpha filter and 105mm WO scope on HEQ5 mount.
Exposure - 87 light and 20 dark frames at ISO 3200 and f/4 for 2 min each with 8 flats for calibration.
