The Eyes,
NGC 4435-NGC 4438, also known as
Arp 120 are the galaxies in the centre of the frame. They are part of the Markarian chain, a rich collection of galaxies in Coma Bernices. 18 galaxies are visible in this image. I am grateful to Courtney Seligman for pointing our that NGC 4438 is distorted by a near-miss several tens of millions of years ago with M86 (see

Conditions - Clear warm evening with no wind.
Equipment - 105mm refractor with modified Canon 350D camera on HEQ5 mount.
Exposure - 116 - 60s lights, 20 darks and 8 flat frames for total of 116 min at ISO 1600.
